Tafsir Ibn Kathir in 10 volumes is one of the most respected classical commentaries on the Holy Quran. Written by the scholar Ismail ibn Kathir, it explains the verses of the Quran by referring first to the Quran itself, then to the authentic Sunnah, and then to the statements of the Companions and the Successors, making it a cornerstone of Quranic scholarship.
The tafsir is known for its careful attention to the meaning of each verse, its explanation of revelation and the context of sending down, and its discussion of legal rulings and historical events mentioned in the Quran. Readers gain not only the literal meaning of the verses but also the lessons they carry for belief, worship, and conduct.
This ten volume set is a valuable resource for students of Islamic knowledge, teachers, imams, and families who wish to study the Quran in depth. It is arranged to follow the order of the Quranic surahs, allowing readers to study the commentary alongside their own recitation.
Ibn Kathir’s commentary has been relied upon for centuries by scholars and students across the Muslim world. Its balance between narration and understanding makes it a dependable guide for those who want to move beyond translation and reflect on the wisdom of each passage.
Whether you are beginning your study of tafsir or seeking a reference for research and sermon preparation, this set offers lasting benefit. Keep it in your library and return to it regularly to deepen your understanding of Allah’s words.
